About this blog

Hello and welcome to this blog!!! :)

I thought that I ought to begin with an introduction, so that you can know a little bit about me and the purpose of this blog. I am an ordinary young lady who wants to serve the Lord with every aspect of my life. I, like everyone else, go through periods in my life where things don't go as I would want them to and yet I have been able to see the Lord's hand in it all no matter how tough things get. I am far from perfect - I've had "temper tantrums" at the Lord more times than I'd like to remember - and I fail Him on a daily basis, but I truly believe that He can and will help us weather any storm if we are His child. Please also remember as you read that I am no counselor, nor would I ever wish to be one. My prayer is that through me sharing what I have learned during the hard times you would be inspired to search the scriptures more and would be reminded that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13)! Also, please bear with my bad grammar and punctuation and so on, as I have an awful habit of simply writing and then posting my draft straight away. :P

I want this blog to be a place where those who are going through tough times in their lives can be built up and encouraged in their walk with the Lord. My posts will generally be written with the assumption that you already know the Lord personally as your Saviour, but if you don't I encourage you to seek Him and ask Him to be your saviour: you will never regret it and having Him at your side helps you endure way more than you ever thought you could!

My friends and I have been writing a blog called Violets and Daisies and this will continue to be the place where I mostly post articles I write. However, I have noticed that I am posting more than a reader could keep up with there, and a lot of the posts have been to do with seeking the Lord during the hard times. So I thought it was about time to place those posts somewhere seperate. I will repost some posts from that blog here to get this blog started. If you want to know more about why I blog here at Rejoice in the Lord always!, you can check out this post: http://rejoiceinthelordalwaysrejoice.blogspot.co.nz/2014/08/look-to-ultimate-counselor.html

Some ideas I have at the moment for future blog posts are as follows:
  • My own thoughts on the subject of suffering.
  • Verses I find helpful and inspiring.
  • Quotes, music and resources about it.
  • Links to good sermons.
  • Excerpts from books.
  • "Inspirational sufferers" - posts about Christians who have endured great trials by God's grace.
  • Posts on something to add joy to our lives: it will be easy for this blog to become a dreary and sad place as I will be posting on such a somber topic, but the verse I use as a motto for this blog reminds us that the Lord wants us to have joy even when things are hard, so I will also be posting things to brighten your day! :)
So please tell me what you think! :) If at any time you want to contact me, simply leave a comment below, somewhere else on this blog or instead you can email me at rejoiceinthelordalways.nz@gmail.com

God bless, and my prayer is that you find this blog helpful in your own walk with the Lord.

To close, I will leave you with this blog's main verse, which I am sure I will refer to often throughout this blog:

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:4-7

To God be the glory!
